Howdy, friends. Hope everyone is getting some good beach time this summer. I’ve been trapped in a windowless room recording music, but sometimes the sand leaks out of the sandbags that we use to weigh down the heavy duty mic stands and it’s almost like the real thing.

Thanks so much for all the thoughtful comments last month. Normally it takes me a while to get moving on writing these posts, but I was so inspired by Seamus’s prompt about spending time with your inner child that I got started right away. Made some tea early one morning, cracked open the laptop under the back porch, chucked on this great Bitchin Bajas/Natural Information Society record (highly recommended) and let the words fly. Shoutout to Seamus.

This month’s demo is for a new song called “Henry,” which is very loosely based on the true story of a kid in my 3rd grade orchestra class whose mother bought him a stand-up bass because she thought that lugging it around would make him skinnier.

We’ve added two acoustic performances to our UK tour. I’ll be doing a free in-store performance at BSM Social Club in Oxford on September 19th, as well as a ticketed matinee at the Exchange in Bristol before our full-band show on the 21st. Almost all of these UK shows are already sold out, so grab tix if you haven’t already.
